The AJ Bell Great North Run is the World’s biggest and best half marathon and famous for its warm North East welcome, unbeatable atmosphere and the millions raised for good causes each year. 

The 2025 AJ Bell Great North Run will take place on Sunday 7th September 2025 and eager participants now have an additional opportunity to secure entry for 2025, with the introduction of a new September Ballot.

The September Ballot opens on Wednesday 4 September at 10am and runs until Friday 13 September at 12pm, when applications will close. All applicants will receive an email with the result of the ballot entry by Wednesday 18th September 2024.  Anyone who is unsuccessful with their September Ballot application can try again in the January Ballot, or can enter with a charity place.
