My Story

Hi and welcome to my fund raising pade. My name is Amy and i need your help.  I started by training journey on the 18th April, having just secured my charity place for the Great North Run and less than 5 months to the run.  That night i went out and ran 2.5k and it took me 24 minutes ....... in less than 5 months i am going to run 13.1 miles, just over 21k!!! Now at around 5 weeks to go i can just about run 15k, with alot of effort, some little walks in the middle and lots of recovery! It really is head down for the last 5 weeks. As an update i am now three weeks away and i have reached my biggest training distance of 17.5k ...... WOW !!

So you can see why i need your help.

I am doing this for an amazing cause, raising money for the Barchester’s Charitable Foundation, it is a registered charity that helps older people and adults with a disability across England, Scotland & Wales. Their focus is about connecting or re-connecting people with others in their local community, and support applications that combat loneliness and enable people to be active and engaged. They often award grants for mobility equipment enabling someone to get out and about, as well as for activities that people can take part in.
