My Story

On the 29th December 2023 I lost my son Max aged 2 to cancer, Atypical Teratoid Rhabdoid Tumour (ATRT), after just over a year long fight with the disease. Max fought so hard, and was the most resilient, strong and happy little boy. I am so proud of him, it is impossible to measure this in words!

I'm taking on the Great North Run this year with the aim to raise funds to help make life a little better for children and families receiving treatment on Wards 4 and 14, the Children's Cancer Unit at the RVI. I'll be running over 13 miles on 8th September 2024 - please help me to make a difference for children from across the North East and Cumbria who are being treated for cancer at The Great North Children's Hospital, just like they did for our family!

All of the staff do a truly remarkable job, and I want to support them through any way I possibly can to help positively impact those children and families who have to go through this.
