My Story

Welcome to my donation page.

In Loving Memory of Mark Jones (1973-2023)

Mark Jones was a true gentleman, whose kindness, humour and generosity touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His warm and compassionate nature, unwavering integrity and cheerleading of others made the world a better place. Mark was a dear friend and trusted mentor, who I met through the Digital Academy in 2018.

Though Mark is no longer with us, following a late pancreatic cancer diagnosis last year his memory will forever remain in our hearts.

To honor Mark’s legacy, I am embarking on a challenge of the 2024 Great North Run (half marathon) to raise funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. This cause is close to my heart, and I hope to make a difference in the fight against this devastating disease.

My last message to Mark was a picture of my running top, and a promise to raise a truck full of money in his name.

Mark, you are sadly missed, but never forgotten 💜

Many of you will know I used to be a more active runner, completing the London Marathon in 2019. Since then, post baby and post Covid I'm back at square one and starting to reintroduce running to my routine. I have not prepared as much as I'd have liked, and am carrying many more kg than previously, but a promise is a promise and I'll do Mark proud.

I'd also like to extend this dedication to a much loved Pharmacy colleague who passed away earlier this year to this awful disease. Sending love to all affected 💚

I'm estimating the run will take me around 3 hours, so please don't expect me to be breaking any records or personal bests!!

Thank you for your support 💜
